Semtech Corporation said it will declare full mass production of two LoRa Plus transceivers, the LR2022 and LR2012, during the 2026 International Internet of Things Exhibition (IOTE 2026) in Shenzhen, marking an expansion of its LoRa chip lineup for applications ranging from low-cost sensing to multi-band global tracking.
The exhibition runs August 26–28 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an), where Semtech is exhibiting at booth 10C51 in Hall 10. Alongside the production announcement, the company is hosting the LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum with partners including Amazon, Quectel, and the LoRa Alliance.
Two chips, one software platform
According to the company, the LR2022 is a multi-band transceiver built on Semtech’s fourth-generation LoRa core IP and is aimed at global terrestrial and non-terrestrial network applications. The LR2012 is a Sub-GHz LoRa transceiver designed for low-cost IoT sensing applications.
Semtech said the two products share the same fourth-generation LoRa IP and software platform, a setup it says can reduce development, certification, and supply chain management costs for device manufacturers. The company described the launch as broadening the LoRa Plus family from a single flagship offering into a wider product matrix.
Shahar Feldman, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Wireless ICs at Semtech, said device manufacturers are supporting an ever-growing array of application scenarios – including smart home, industrial sensing, and global tracking – without needing to add an extra chip for each use case. He noted that the LR2022 and LR2012 share the same fourth-generation LoRa IP and software platform, enabling design teams to develop both Sub-GHz and multi-band products on a single architecture while simplifying supply chain management. As the new products scale in deployment, enterprises need to procure and certify fewer components, further reducing development and operational complexity.

Forum centers on ecosystem scale
Semtech said this year’s LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum carries the theme "Innovate, Connect, Achieve: LoRa Linking Future Industries and Global Markets", and will bring together ecosystem partners, customers, and media to discuss LoRa adoption in industrial and consumer IoT.

During the forum, Semtech said it will hold a press conference for attending industry media and present application case studies and technical talks with ecosystem members and Semtech technical experts.
Demonstrations span six areas
At its booth, the company plans live demonstrations across six categories: video, image and audio transmission; Z-Wave and Wi-SUN multi-protocol connectivity; Sidewalk ecosystem devices; edge AI; module ecosystems; and real-world application cases.
Semtech said the demonstrations will include Fast Long-Range Communication (FLRC) video transmission based on LR2021 at up to 2.6 Mbps, image transmission through Fast Long-Range Protocol (FLRP), and a LoRa audio intercom demonstration. It also plans to show Z-Wave and Wi-SUN combined with LoRa on the LR2021 platform, as well as Sidewalk-connected devices including child trackers, vehicle trackers, glass-break sensors, and fire alarms.
The company said it will also display dozens of module products based on the LR20xx LoRa Plus series and multi-protocol solutions across smart home, agriculture, industrial, and other sectors.
