SW3L-LB Outdoor LoRaWAN Water Flow Sensor
The Dragino SW3L-LB is a LoRaWAN Flow Sensor. It detects water flow volume and uplinks to the IoT server via the LoRaWAN network. Users can use this to monitor the water usage for buildings.
SW3L-LB is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, It is designed for long-term use for up to 10 years. (Actually, the Battery life depends on the use environment and update period.)
The SW3L will send water flow volume every 20 minutes. It can also detect the water flow status and send an Alarm to avoid waste for water usage such as broken toilet cases.
SW3L is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It has a weatherproof enclosure and industrial-level battery to work in low to high temperatures.
Each SW3L is pre-loaded with unique keys for LoRaWAN registration, register these keys to the LoRaWAN server, and it will auto-connect after powering on.

Really good piece of kit that we have connected to our Siemen’s Connect Box gateway. I purchased 4 in various sizes to track water use in our industrial site and I am very pleased. I only wish they were available in a bit bigger sizes. I’ll certainly be buying more.

I use this sensor to monitor our water, a renter’s water and the water in an AirBnb. I’ve already prevented a $100+ fine for watering during the drought incorrectly by my renter. The counting seems very accurate as I have 1.6 Gallon toilets and they correlate very accurately showing 1.6 Gallon. There are MANY uses and applications for these – like verifying flow in ag to make systems more reliable. I have seen SOME spurious measurements which I am still debugging, but you would be hard pressed to find a better solution without paying 5-10x more. I love the Dragino outdoor case. These were easy to deploy. To get them to rejoin or power them up you have to take off the case. But that is the price of waterproof. I like this device. My tech stack is DSL08 -> TTS on Linode -> Ubidots.
